       I am being attacked. That's my first conscious thought. My second is a question. Why are my attackers so small, lively and squeaky? Then it hits me. Literally. I feel three small people jumping on me, their voices clamoring together in a dissonant soup that trickled down through my pillow and into my wincing ears. Slowly, I open an eyelid to peek around my pillow. The light dazzles me for a moment before I focus on their seemingly innocent faces.              Sunlight peeks over the horizon as dawn approaches. Its warmth spills over as the sun rises, taking with it the cold and the darkness of the night. Golden beams enter the land, surrounding the island with its light. I can see them creeping slowly through my window, making delicate patterns on the floor. A beautiful start to what seemed to be a perfect morning; had anyone been awake to see it.  Besides me, that is. I don't think I could ever sleep again.
